What Our Clients Say
From first chords to elite tertiary pathways, students of all ages and abilities thrive in our studio.
“Before taking lessons with Ben, I found myself paralysed by over-information and unsure of the pathway forward.
Ben not only helped me clarify my vision but also showed me exactly how I could get there.
It’s rare to find a teacher who helps you develop from within — equipping you with the tools and understanding to eventually guide yourself.”
— Dennis V. — 3rd year WAAPA student

What Makes Us Different
Our focus is on helping students experience music on the instrument as soon as possible, so they feel engaged, capable, and motivated to keep progressing.
Learn by Playing, with Clear Direction
Lessons are built around listening, imitation, and hands-on playing rather than heavy reliance on written material or overwhelming theory.
Teaching is informed by experience at the highest levels of both performance and education, including work at a tertiary level. This means students are guided toward what actually matters — without unnecessary complexity slowing progress.
Structured Learning, No Guesswork
Each lesson follows a clear progression, so students always know what they are working toward and how to improve.
Sessions are supported with demonstration videos, giving students a reliable reference for practice between lessons and removing the guesswork that often leads to frustration.
A More Effective Way to Learn
The result is a learning experience that is practical, engaging, and easy to stay consistent with over time — helping students improve faster while actually enjoying the process.

Guitar Becomes Far More Rewarding When You Play With Others
The most rewarding moments in music happen when you're playing alongside other people.
Hearing different parts come together, locking into the same rhythm and feeling a song take shape around you is an experience you simply don't get practising alone.
Who says who can’t experience such moments from the start of your musical journey?
In these small-group sessions, you'll learn alongside up to six players — developing real musicianship through listening, interacting and making music together.
Groups are carefully matched by experience, so everyone can progress comfortably while still receiving individual guidance and feedback along the way.
Playing alongside other musicians helps develop skills that simply can't be learned alone:
• Strong timing and rhythm
• Listening and ensemble awareness
• Musical communication
• Confidence playing with others
• Faster progress through shared learning
We'll work through student song requests alongside some of the most iconic music of all time.
A Natural Way to Learn
Our approach is designed to get you playing and experiencing music rather than getting bogged down in unnecessary theory. If you’ve ever wondered how great guitar players make it look so easy - this is how.
Hear it. Learn it. Play it.
Hear it. Get the sound of the musical parts in your ears, so you’re thinking musically, not logically.
Learn it. Break it into easy, comfortable, bite sized segments - one note at a time.
Play it. Gradually assemble the parts, piece by piece, and begin experiencing the joy of recreating the music.
Through listening, repetition and playing together, you'll learn to internalise music the same way professional guitarists do — helping your playing become second nature.
Keep Your Lessons Forever
Every week, you'll receive demonstration videos made especially for your group, making practice easier and giving you a clear reference to play along with at home.
Over the term, you'll build your own library of songs, riffs and lesson material to keep and revisit whenever you like.
Take your lesson home with you — and keep it forever.
Flexibility Built In
Your enrolment also includes the option to swap up to two group sessions each term for individual 45-minute private lessons — at no extra cost.

Personalised Lessons, Focused on Real Musical Growth
For students who prefer individual attention, Ben offers private online guitar lessons tailored to your goals and musical interests.
Whether you're looking to refine your technique, build your repertoire, prepare for auditions, or simply deepen your understanding of the instrument, lessons are designed around where you are and where you'd like to go next.
Each session is clear, supportive, and focused on helping you make meaningful progress — while keeping the experience enjoyable and musically engaging.
During each 60-minute lesson, we work together in real time through demonstration, practical guidance, and direct feedback on your playing.
Support Between Lessons
After each session, students receive a dedicated demonstration video recorded specifically for them.
Rather than written notes alone, these videos give you clear visual and musical references to guide your practice during the week.
You’ll receive:
• Clear visual demonstrations
• Accurate musical references
• Full-tempo examples and slower breakdowns
• Practical guidance on what to focus on in your practice
This helps remove uncertainty from practice time and makes it easier to continue improving between lessons.
Over time, the goal is not just improvement from week to week — but developing the confidence and independence to keep growing as a guitar player.
$100 per 60-minute lesson
Private lesson availability is limited in order to ensure each student receives thoughtful preparation and individual attention.

Who are the group lessons for?
Our group lessons are primarily for adult students who want to learn in a focused, supportive environment. Groups are kept small (maximum six students) and organised by age and experience so everyone feels comfortable and challenged at the same time.
If you’re not sure where you’d fit, just get in touch — we’ll figure it out together.
Do I need experience before joining?
Not at all. Some students start as complete beginners. Others come in after learning from YouTube or having lessons elsewhere.
What matters most is a willingness to show up, practise consistently, and be part of a musical environment.
Why group lessons instead of private lessons?
Learning with others builds real musicianship. You develop timing, listening skills, confidence, and the ability to actually play with people, which is ultimately what music is about.
You still receive individual feedback in every session, but you also gain the energy and motivation that comes from learning alongside others.
How do students practise between lessons?
After each session, students receive demonstration videos that reinforce what we covered. These include clear visual examples and aural references, so there’s no confusion about what to practise.
The idea is simple: hear it, see it, internalise it, play it.
Practice should feel focused - not overwhelming.
What happens in an online private lesson?
Online lessons are one-to-one and fully tailored to your goals. During the session, you’ll receive live demonstration, feedback, and structured direction.
Afterwards, you’ll receive a personalised video demonstration to guide your practice during the week - so you’re never left guessing what to work on.
What do I need for online lessons?
A guitar, a stable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone (laptop, tablet, or desktop). Nothing complicated - just a setup that allows clear communication.
How long are lessons?
Group lessons run for 75 minutes.
Online private lessons run for 60 minutes.
What are the lesson fees?
Semi-private group lessons are $65 per session.
Online private lessons are $100 per 60-minute session.
Can I reschedule if something comes up?
Of course, life happens, and we understand.
If you give at least 24 hours’ notice, we’ll arrange another time that works - at no extra cost. We aim to keep things consistent, but also reasonable and supportive :)
Are there opportunities to progress further?
Yes, some students simply want to enjoy playing music. Others aim for competitions, auditions, or tertiary pathways.
Wherever you’re headed, we’ll provide clear guidance and structure to help you get there.
How do I get started?
Send through an email enquiry, and we’ll have a conversation about goals, availability, and suitability.
Spots are limited to keep the learning environment focused and personal.
